Refuge
Youth
Ministry
A real place for 6th-12th graders to build a real relationship with Jesus. Fun, welcoming, and no cliques. Ever.
Here’s What
Happens
No guessing. No awkward “what do I do when I walk in” feeling. Here’s a normal night, broken down.
Games and Snacks
Arrive, grab food (pizza, chicken nuggets, whatever’s on) and jump into games. Nine Square is usually happening. Come as you are.
The Message
A 30-45 minute biblically grounded teaching. Not a lecture. Something you’ll actually think about on the drive home.
Discussion and Hangout
Talk through what was taught. Ask questions. Play more games. Build the kind of friendships that aren’t just surface level.
Pickup
That’s the night. Everything happens in the Youth Room, Bridge Office Lower Level. Parents can drop off and pick up with confidence. All leaders are background checked, every time.
Arrive
Earlier start in the summer. Show up, get your bearings, say hi to people. No sign-up needed. Just walk in.
Short Message
A focused 15-minute message. Quick and punchy, enough to carry something worth thinking about into the rest of the night.
Off-Campus Activity
This is where the summer gets good. We leave and go actually do things together.
Pickup
Back safe, on time. Parents get contact info before every off-campus event and safety procedures are in place throughout.
A Place
That Feels
Like Family
Refuge Youth isn’t just a Wednesday night thing. It’s a room where students are known, not just attending. Where you’re not just tolerated. You actually belong. That’s not an accident. We’re intentional about it.
No Cliques. Full Stop.
We actively work against that. Every student who walks in should feel included from the first minute, not after they’ve “proven” themselves.
A Safe Place
Safe to ask questions. Safe to not have it all figured out. Safe to be a mess. That’s kind of the whole point.
Fun Is Real Here
Games, food, energy, and actually laughing together. We don’t think faith and fun are in conflict.
And It Goes Deeper
Fun is the starting line, not the destination. We want students to leave different. Not just entertained.
No Church Background Required. Ever.
Students can come any time during the year. Bring a friend who has never set foot in a church. Our goal is that every person who walks through the door leaves with a clear picture of who Jesus is, and knows they’re welcome, whatever their story is.
Scripture That
Actually Lands
We’re serious about the Bible. That doesn’t mean it’s dry. Every message is built to be both grounded and something you’ll think about on the way home.
Sermon
on the Mount
Right now we’re working through the Sermon on the Mount, what Jesus actually said about how to live, and what it means to let that shape who you are, not just what you do on Wednesdays.
Discussion-Based, Not Just a Lecture
Every message includes discussion questions designed to make students think and actually respond, not just sit and absorb. The goal is depth, not performance.
A Real Relationship With Jesus
Not just knowledge about Jesus. Not just behavior modification. We want students to know Him, and to make Him Lord, not just Savior. That’s the difference we’re after.
A Foundation That Lasts
Everything we teach is aimed at building something that outlasts high school. Faith that holds when life gets hard. That’s what we’re building toward.
More To
Look Forward To
Wednesday nights are the heartbeat, but there’s more to Refuge Youth than that.
Youth Camps
Overnight camps that pull students out of the routine and into something they usually come back from changed. Some of the biggest moments of faith happen at camp.
AnnualConferences
We take students to larger gatherings where they get to experience something bigger than just our group, and connect with other students who are following Jesus.
AnnualMissions Trip
A spring break missions trip is in the works. Service that takes students outside their comfort zone and outside Helena. The kind of thing that changes your perspective for good.
Coming SoonPeople Who
Actually Care
Refuge Youth is led by people who are invested in students as people, not just a group to manage.
Levi Metz
Levi leads Refuge Youth as the Family Life Pastor at Bridge Assembly. He handles the teaching, plans the events, and sets the direction for the ministry. He places a high value on both strong biblical teaching and actually knowing the students he works with. Not just a crowd. People.
Emme Rosenbaum
Emme is a young adult leader who helps run the room and builds real relationships with students. She keeps things on track during Wednesday nights, assists with events and activities, and creates the kind of welcoming environment where every student actually feels seen, not just counted.
Drop Off
With Confidence
We take student safety seriously. Here’s what’s in place so you can feel good about where your student is on Wednesday nights.
All Volunteers Are Background Checked
Every adult leader and volunteer goes through a background check before working with students. No exceptions.
Emergency Contact Forms
Every student has a contact form on file. For off-campus events, parents provide contact info and we follow clear safety protocols throughout.
Direct Access to Leaders
Reach Levi or any leader directly by text, call, or email anytime. We stay connected with parents beyond just Wednesday nights.
No Church Membership Required
Your student doesn’t need to attend Bridge or any church to be part of Refuge Youth. It’s open to everyone in Helena and surrounding areas.
Friends Are Always Welcome
Students can bring friends at any point during the year. No need to wait for a special night or ask permission first.

Just Ask.
