What is Leadership Training?

Fill the gaps. Lead better right now.

Leadership Training is not a full program you have to commit to from beginning to end. It is a targeted option that lets you choose from the nine Paul to Timothy Leadership classes and take the ones that speak directly to where you are right now.

Think of it like this: you are a deacon who is great with people but struggles with conflict. Or you are a worship leader who needs help building a team. Or you are an elder who wants to understand how to manage finances in ministry. You do not need nine classes. You need two or three specific ones.

Leadership Training is designed for exactly that. You come in knowing where you need to grow, you pick the classes that address it, and you leave better at the thing you are already doing.

“This path is designed for those who have a specific desire to learn an aspect of leadership or management skills they are lacking in. Think of this path as a way to supplement where you are already at.” – Bridge 938 Student Manual

Who it is for

This was built for you if…

You do not need to be starting from zero. Leadership Training is for people who are already in the game and want to get sharper in specific areas.

Deacons, elders, and lay leaders

You hold a leadership role in your church and you want to be better at it. Leadership Training lets you pick the specific classes that strengthen exactly where you are serving.

Volunteers who want to lead better

You are serving consistently and people are looking to you, but you have never had formal training. One or two targeted classes can change how you show up for the people you serve.

Ministry leaders filling specific gaps

You know your strengths. You also know exactly where you fall short. Whether it is conflict, team building, finances, or communication, there is a class for that specific thing.

Not sure which path is the right fit? Leadership Training is great if you are already active. If you are newer to faith or just starting out, Foundations is the better starting point.

What is expected of you

Leadership Training requires showing up.

These expectations apply to every Bridge 938 student regardless of which path you are on.

Attend Bridge Helena Sunday services regularly. Church is part of the program, not separate from it.

Serve somewhere in the church. Even a small role. Leadership is learned by doing.

Develop an active prayer life and journal consistently. Personal discipline is what makes everything else work.

Read the Bible daily. Build the habit. It does not have to be long.

Show up on time and respect deadlines. Your group is counting on you.

Communicate openly. If something is not working, say so. That is how growth happens.

A note on commitment

Leadership Training is flexible in what classes you take, but it is not casual. When you commit to a class, you show up. Your instructor and your group are investing time in you. Bring the same to them.

If you finish your selected classes and want more, you can take additional classes or step into the full Paul to Timothy Institute for the complete curriculum and a certificate.

Common questions

Straight answers.

How many classes do I have to take?

There is no minimum. You choose the classes that fit what you need. Some people take one. Some take several. If you end up wanting all nine, you qualify for the reduced rate of $50 per class.

Can I take all nine and get a certificate?

Taking all nine Paul to Timothy classes alone does not result in a certificate. To earn the certificate and qualify for seminary credit hours, you need Path 3, the full Paul to Timothy Institute, which adds the Practical Ministry Sessions component.

Do I need to take Foundations first?

Not necessarily. Leadership Training is for people who are already active in church. If you have a solid personal faith foundation and are already serving, you can start here. If you are newer to faith, Foundations is the better first step.

How often do I meet in person?

Twice a month at Bridge Helena. This is consistent across all Bridge 938 paths at this level.

What do the classes actually cover?

The nine Paul to Timothy Leadership classes cover practical ministry leadership topics: leading with the Spirit, managing conflict, building teams, marriage and family in ministry, financial management, teaching and preaching, leading change, and more. Each one is designed for real-world application.

What if I want to go deeper after this?

Leadership Training is a great on-ramp to Path 3 – the Paul to Timothy Institute. If you complete all nine classes here and want the full curriculum, certificate, and seminary credit hours, that is your natural next step.
